Promoting independence
We have a number of vehicles and have good public transport links enabling access to community activities such as cinema, bowling, theme parks and restaurants, used to promote and develop independence skills and provide equality for service users.
We have a range of activities available including arts and crafts materials, TV, DVDs, games, puzzles, books, garden games, and cooking equipment. The garden provides service users with the opportunity to develop in a sensory stimulating environment.
The Orchard Care Home Ltd was established in July 2006 and provides a very high standard of both care and accommodation. All staff are trained to NVQ levels 2, 3 and 4 in health and social care. Whilst we specialise in Autism, we are open to and registered for six Adults with learning disabilities and or mental ill health.
As care providers we are continually striving to improve the level of service and standards of accommodation we provide. Our latest venture has been to expand the size of the home. This consists of five bedrooms all with en-suites and a sixth with a separate bedroom all built to a high standard.
The property is a detached dormer bungalow which is located close to all amenities. Within walking distance, you will find a 24-hour shopping store, Tram network, Leisure centre, Doctors, Dentists, local shops, and the town centre. We also have miles of countryside walks on our doorstep.
We currently have placement vacancies available; however, I am sure that these placement opportunities will be quickly taken. We can also accommodate emergency placements and respite care. All placements will naturally be subject to the necessary evaluation process in order to ensure the compatibility of the service users and the level of service we provide.

We are a member of the National Autistic Society and information about our home can be found on their website. We are accredited by Peninsula Business Services as an employer of excellence, and all our inspection reports can be viewed on the Care Quality Commission website.

The Orchard Care Home Limited comprises of a dorma bungalow with six single bedrooms. five rooms have en-suite facilities and one bedroom with a separate bathroom facility. All rooms meet the required standards as set out by the Care Quality Commission formally the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) in relation to size and décor.

Meet The Team
The Orchard Care Home Ltd provides full training for all staff. All staff must attend mandatory training and updates. These include moving and assisting, epilepsy, safeguarding, medication awareness, first aid / autism
